I’m a Mother.

I’m a Mother. I’m a Wife. I’m a Sister. I’m a Daughter. I’m a Friend. I’m easily identified by the roles I have in my life. I proudly wear each of these labels and have created a life which I love because of each of these roles. However, for as long as I can remember, I have made these labels my identity. The relationship I have with the other important people in my life have somehow become the only way I describe myself. I have lost my identity. I have lost my voice. I introduce myself as “Marshall’s Wife” or “Mackenzie’s Mom”. There are times when I literally do not even share my name. Why? As women, why do we let go of our own identity instead of growing it to include these roles? I am proud to be a mother. I am proud to be a wife, sister, daughter, and friend. But I am also proud to be Jenn. So let me introduce myself and share a few fun facts about me: I'm Jenn. I have a dark and sometimes unexpected sense of humour. I love old people love. I look forward to being old and wrinkly and still in love with my high school sweetheart, still laughing like we did when we first met in high school. My passion is financial literacy for both children AND adults. Money doesn’t have to be hard. I want to take away the mystery surrounding money and empower others to take control of their finances. I am a huge Michael Buble fan but I actually never sing the songs so I actually don’t know many of the lyrics to his music. My favourite musical is Newsies. If you don't know what this is, I am sad for you. Pretty much the best thing on the planet. What is something you want people to know about YOU? What makes YOU special and unique?
